Reaching Out

— M Yuvan

What I (with a glance),
you (with hands full of grain)
and he (with an arrow)
are reaching out to
is the same bird.
To home in on nest or
prey is the bird’s vocation,
and flight, its way of life.
When it feels in control
of the wind, the bird
also coasts in the air.
